Medical exam

The physical exam by a doctor is substantially different from the one performed by a woman at home, since it is performed by a trained professional.

To this result the doctor will add other pieces of information:

• If there is a nodule
When did it appear? Is it painful? Noticed any recent further changes ? Have the patients suffered an accident, had an infection or medical treatment in the area of the nodule?

• What is the patient’s familial and clinical breast history?

These questions look for clues that might explain the breast change to be further investigated by the imaging tests.
