Side effects

Treatments for breast cancer are becoming more and more effective fighting the disease.

However, most treatments still carry arduous side effects.

Not all patients feel them with the same intensity, and the type of effect depend in large measure from the medications and/or interventions prescribed.

If you are about to start a treatment for breast cancer, talk with your doctor about what effects to expect, and how to minimize them.

Our  leaflets  contain advice on how to deal with the side effects common to the treatments used on most cancers. The ones chosen are also the most frequent in breast cancer, and result from chemotherapy, sometimes from radiotherapy or hormonal therapies.

Your chemotherapy might also be associated with targeted therapies using monoclonal antibodies that have particular side effects that WILL NOT BE DISCUSSED HERE. Talk with your doctor if you are receiving that type of treatment.

Remember that you are initiating (or already under) a type of treatment that needs time and tranquility, and you should make it a priority to take care of yourself.
